I have no beef with Ferrari whatsoever. What I felt needed saying was that Porsche is NOT one of those companies that has "little to zero racing programs" and therefore uses the Nürburgring lap times as a cheap marketing tool. That would be manifestly untrue about Porsche as it is running major racing programs as I had highlighted in my previous post.
Ferrari takes their cars to racing levels - which is supported.
Porsche 918 does not - they leave it at the Ring.

Yes. It's their culture and people will do anything for that association.
CGT sells around 700k whereas Enzo sells near 3M and that variation is consistent or greater.
Porsche isn't any less of a car - it's the culture Ferrari has created and sustained.

Given the low production of Lamborghini unlike Ferrari they will likely continue to build NA cars whereas the F12 could be the last NA V12.

Autocar claims that
1 - Aventador SV maybe be faster than 918 ( at the Ring, I guess)
2 - given that Lamborghini and Porsche are part of a VW, If 1 above is true, then Lamborghini will not be able to show it.
True?

Good thing though, is that porsche has the potential to go back and set a much faster time with better tires and full-production car.

I agree. Difficult to believe that 918 could be slower than SV, when P1 was a close second in Laguna Seca ( different track characteristics, I know) but what I find most difficult to believe is that VW would not allow other subsidiaries to post faster times than Porsche. One can imagine that this is not very inspiring for employees- recipe for brand failure.
