Default 918 Assembly line visit

so it looks like I have my 918 assembly line visit confirmed for end of April. I'll be able to see my Weissach get put together when I visit the factory that day.

will also be visiting Porsche Museum (private tour) and Porsche Classic.

anything else I should check out while there? anybody done it before?

Anybody done it before? Not me. I didn't even know you could visit the factory in Germany. Wow! Good luck.

by "it" before I mean visiting the 918 Assembly line itself... not sure if pics are allowed when inside.

It would seem Porsche has relaxed the photo rule somewhat now, every single owner who visited the 918 line to see their own cars has pictures.

Yes, German privacy rules have changed in recent years. First time I visited the Zuffenhausen factory back in 1981 (or so), you could take as many photos as you wanted. Then the rules changed, allegedly over new privacy laws that required permission from workers before you could take their photos. Now, at some automotive factory tours in Germany, your cameras and phones are collected & stored for you while you take the guided tours! But for VIP customers, Porsche can & does make exceptions. Sometimes, they have even allowed video of their 918 facility at Zuffenhausen...

Those Russians had some special connection or something that's for sure.

During my April visit, which is a couple months after those Russians, I cannot take photos on the line, but during my September visit I was offered the chance to grab pictures and video of my own car.
