Bizarre car is my reaction....but in a good way. I agree with GVA-SFO that this is a connoisseur car. You either get it or not, and then have the means to acquire if you do. You would have to be a bit of an extrovert to drive this car in public obviously.
Eduardo, you mention your friend is taking his car back to Louisiana, any chance he's the same guy who recently sold one of his two F1's?

There really are no "run of the mill" AMG engines per se.

My point was simply that Horatio simply took someone else's engine off the shelf, and stuffed it into his own model car.

It's sort of like buying an AMG SLS Black Series, and then having Horatio design a body kit for it. And then going to Liberace's tailor to redo the interior.

I will pass.

I had a CL65 - price went from 200k to 55k in 4 years.

700 hp is easy as to achieve with a Renntech upgrade - enough torque to pull a home off it's foundation.

The Pagani is drop dead gorgeous.

I'll inquire.

I owned a MY2007 MB CL600 for five years. It had a Bi-Turbo v12 with 517 hp and 612 Nm of torque! It was a monster...and this was not even the AMG massaged CL65 motor like yours! But it also had a kerb weight of 4155 lbs! Now imagine the Pagani's AMG engine with 730 hp and 1000 Nm of torque on a chassis weighting only 3000 lbs! Oh, Lord!

Saludos,
Eduardo
Carmel

PS Depreciation on the '07 CL600 was also wicked...MSRP of US$147K down to $50K in five years! But what an excellent cross-country road car!

Eduard - that's the world of turbo's.

Easy to get a lot of torque and power but monster like.

The CL65 was a lil piggy and even my ex MP4 that had a really good turbo feel I prefer not to buy another turbo.

It's the way of the future but very much prefer naturally aspirated engines.

I went from a 612 which was a mistake to the Bentley SS Conv - even more piggy body roll and that waiting for the turbo kick.

Agree the CL65 & 600 are excellent cross country if there is a gas station every 200 miles
