How many CGTs have been totalled ?
Was looking at a smashed up CGT on the ramps at RS Tuning in Germany the other day, the car had been sent over from the US to be repaired. I was saying it is not surprising to see one in this state since it is so tricky to drive the CGT aggressively particularly on uneven cambered roads and how the car could really have benefitted from PSM like on the GT2.
I was asking them how many of their tuning kits they had sold and what sort of "heros" were buying them since this must turn the CGT into even more of an accident waiting to happen.
They told me about a European customer who had his CGT tuned by them to 670hp and wrote it off then bought another one and had it tuned and wrote that one off........ He bought another one and left it stock....... whilst this one was at the dealer for service...... the dealer wrote it off Thankfully all in the cars were unharmed.
The customer now has another, his fourth CGT and it is stock.....
It does make one wonder just how many of the ~1280 have accident damage ?

If I counted correctly (questionable) there are about 45-50 (about 3.9% of the production run) cracked CGTs pictured on www.wreckedexotics.com. There are certainly more that haven't achieved the notoriety of being on this particular website.
My guess is around 10% but just as easily could be as Jamie says at 15%.

Anecdotal, but I remember an "informed" CGT mechanic telling me (and this was over 2 years) that more than 200 of the cars produced had been damaged. He was non-specific about Country and I assumed he meant world wide.
If that # was correct, then you can be sure there were a few more since. All the more reason to be careful when you buy one.

Talking to my local service advisor today and a CGT was "totalled" up here in the NW just yesterday at the track. A Canadian owner brought his car down to participate in a track day. Too bad.
Its been a little past two months since the above post and there has been two more CGTs destroyed up here in the NW. WTH!
