Default CGT exhaust vacume lines

Has anyone removed the vacume lines from the exhaust on the CGT to get more engine note at low RPM? Do you just unplug the line from the exhaust and plug it? Or is there something else that you need to do like join the lines together?

Help really appreciated

Didn't know you could do that but sounds like fun. Speak up people!

That is all you do.
Make sure you plug the hoses and I suggest taping off the connections on the vacume actuators to keep any debris out.
It gives a little more throaty exhaust note at low rpms.

I'm trying it now. I'm taking off the rear undertray for better access. I'm just waiting for the torque multiplier to take off the wheels!

Apparently the valves (exhaust flaps) are just for lower noise at lower rpm and speeds. I can't find anything in the Service or Technical manuals that indicates they have another purpose.

Default cgt exhaust

The low RPM noise is exactly what they are for. My question is if you just plug the vacuum hoses from the engine or do you need to connect them together. I know many people have done this and on the 911 we just plug the hose. I am just not sure on the CGT.
Let us know what your results are

You just need to pull off and plug the line and port on the exhaust.

Bill S I know this sounds stupid but I have seen it done more than once, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR TORQUE MULTIPLIER DOES NOT RUB ON THE CALIPER!!!

Thanks for the tip! I'm surprised that's not a warning in the Service Manual.

Can you reach the lines without removing the under panels? This is something I would like to also do on mine if it is easy to reach.

You can see the hoses from the top, but it might be hard to plug them and/or pull them off without cutting the clamp.

Here's what they look like when looking down into the engine compartment. I'm waiting for some tools to take off the rear undertray for better access.

That's crazy. Is that paint scratched off the caliper from the torque multiplier, or is the damage even more severe?
