Jamie,

If you can get me the VIN, I will pull up the history to see where it has been serviced.

How do you know its been off-road? did you find any track inspections?

As disclosed by the seller. I'll try to get that info, thanks.

Jamie,

Looks like that car has been serviced at Porsche of Madison 4/05-10/06 (up to 4,583 miles).

Nothing major as far as warranty work. There is about 5 claims for some small stuff (front hood latch, loose rear cover, headlight vent).

Warranty start date: 2/28/05

There is one open campaign on this car: Part # W735

Might be a good idea to give Porsche of Madison (WI) a call, and see what kind of service was done. Not sure where the second owner was having his work done, as there is no evidence of anything .

Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I know the first owner. He is very meticulous with maintenance. Road use only. Lost track after he sold.

Thanks to both. Seller thought it appropriate to chastise me for seeking information elsewhere rather than 'trusting' him alone.

The seller sounds lilke an idiot...proper due diligence needs to be done when purchasing a cgt. When I bought mine the dealer(Marshall Goldman) was great.

Jamie

Not the car for you then.

Isn't it tough to find a nice clean car at a great price not matter the economic condition?

Maybe I should get a 430 - they're giving them away!

This would make a good and cheap track car for high 200's. (this week. less next)

Sounds like there may be even more stories to this car. It worries me that there is no evidence of it going to a dealer the whole life of the second ownership. With the open campain, he must have been having it serviced at a non Porsche dealer. That is if he was having it serviced....

This may have been a "drive twenty exotics in a weekend" car.
