hopefully nothing serious!

Nothing to worry about, the uneven idle is normal and the rattle/vibration from the engine bay is due to the lack of a dual mass flywheel!! As you say, disappears when you depress the clutch, nothing to get concerned about!!

Enjoy the car, don't fancy using it in the snow though, it really is fantastic!!
