I think maybe ROW? Something about a safety or emissions reg change that made them pump out more in 04/05 in US because they couldn’t come here after?

Believe it was something about the airbag? I know canada got a couple of 06 cars

I remember reading/hearing that somewhere too. I think they would have had to re-certify or something in the US.

The USA did not receive 2006 model year Carrera GTs because of the NHTSA's "advanced frontal air bags" ruling, which stated that 2006+ MY cars needed to have dual-stage airbags (which sense occupant weight and deploy accordingly) rather than single-stage airbags (which is what the CGT has).

Canada did receive some 2006 MY Carrera GTs, which are essentially the same spec as a USA car.

The RoW markets also received 2006 MY Carrera GTs.

Production ended May 2006.

There are MY2006 Carrera GTs, but due to a change in regs (airbags, I think?), all CGTs in the US market are MY 2005.
