Carrera GT Cold startup rough idle ?
Maybe some of the CGT guys can chime in here...
Do any of you experience a rough idle, brief stumble, on cold startup on your CGT ? My tech once told me several weeks ago that they all do this, but it seems kinda "unporschelike"
How does your CGT fare on cold start up ?

Seems like I have noticed this once or twice, but not more. I believe it happened once when the car had not been exercised for a few weeks. Does your car sit for extended periods - like a month or more?

My car has also done this after sitting for quite a while, it clears up after about 30 seconds. I normally let my car warm up for a minute or two before driving it so it isn't a problem.

No, this seems to occur even after only a couple of days sitting...cars starts, idle is very rough and stumbles, and sometimes I have to lightly b;ip the throttle just to "clear its throat"....
stumbly startup, sputter, clear throat, no problems therafter....
air temp is anywhere from 30-60F
I think on the next am startup, I am going to call my tech and let him hear it over the cell...

I have found rough running at cold start up common. If I give it just a little throttle that seems to help a lot and it smooths out quickly.
Mine was bad enough that it tripped the "engine check" light couple times. Took it in to the local dealer who found an injector problem.
Still runs rough on cold start up but no longer trips the light.

I think you will find most are rough on start up and settle down after a couple of mins, almost like a auto choke, but carried out via the ecu.My car is like it every time at cold start up.

Mine starts up like this almost every the time if it sits more that 12 hours and I drive it almost every day. The air temp. is 65 - 85 (south florida). It clears up in about 10-20 seconds.

You may find that using an injector cleaner will make the cold starting much better.
You will also find that plug fouling plays a part in cold starting, and with using an injector cleaner plug fouling is reduced, and the engine starts better, this also stops injector clogging which can make the injectors seep petrol into the cylinder depending if the valves are open and this only adds to the start up problems.
I remember reading a post about mikes old 911 that after a he'd been shopping he'd come back and the car would have starting problems, obviously this had the bosch k-jet injection which is mechanical and suffered from the injector seeping and hard starting due to flooding.

It was manufactured in January, 2005. The VIN ends in 1166.
Maybe I let it run for long enough after start-up (15-20 seconds) so that I've never noticed any roughness when I back it out of the garage.
I usually wait until the brake servo warning extinguishes before I get underway.
