I can't believe you sold the Carrera GT! Do you miss it?

Hi Buddy, Well..... Yes and No! I miss it because it may have been the most sophisticated car I'll have ever owned. It was just so outrageous looking and the sound was incredible. I loved passing people on the street or freeway at that certain RPM and watching their faces freak out when they heard that F1 sound buzz by them.

BUT... It was a little tough to drive a lot because of the ground clearance, the lack of decent rear visibility, a little tough getting in and out of and the incredible power she possessed! I think she scared me more than any car I ever owned.

Finally, I'm happy I did the garage change because I'm driving the F430s and 599 a lot, lot more than I did the SLR and the CGT! They're just easier to live with on a daily basis. But again, I really do miss the Carrera GT. I'm just glad I was fortunate enough to own one! Magwheel

Magwheels, it’s been such a pleasure to read through this thread. Congrats to you on the staggering collection you maintain, and thank you for making it and yourself so accessible to all of us here. I particularly liked your brightly-colored Lambos, the carrera GT, and your GT3. Who am i kidding? i loved 'em all! I, too, come from a well-to-do family, and I, too, learned early that being as down-to-earth, gracious, and modest about my background is the only way to go. Needless to say, thank you for sharing!

On to my question, and I ask this out of genuine curiosity, and definitely not as a rhetorical jibe: How do you justify 2 F430 berlinettas? The spyder I can somewhat understand, but having two identical coupes? Is it because resale on the F430 is so good, that if you have the means, you can buy one and sell it even a year later at close to retail, meanwhile enjoying having both a black and red one at your disposal? I know the Sultan of Brunei had something like 12 F50’s in all colors, or at least a ridiculous quantity of the same car, but you seem to be a normal guy, not a crazy gazillionaire despot.

Also, I’d be really keen to hear your thoughts on your CLK BS versus the 599.
