On the passenger seat, and if you have a passenger just buy what you need when you get there!

My buddy with CGT and I went for a golf weekend:
no clubs, obviously, tops off and stowed in beautiful covers in trunk.
I brought (1) soft bag--- and rather than have it in my foot compartment,
I put some of my clothes behind my seat, and around the CF tops in the trunk.
We had the time of our lives, top down, wind in face, V-10 blowing in our ears.
like Marsman said, we bought food, beer, and sweatshirts as needed!!

That First Luggage option is a great idea. I am a vegan and travel with a vintage Corning electric hotplate, Corningware cookware and food, since I cook all of my meals and seldom eat in restaurants. I have flown loaded down and it was not pleasant, particularly between flights.

On the other hand, someone once advised that the proper way to travel is with a lot of money and a toothbrush. No more.

As one of my friends, formerly with Lamborghini, said of the Countach on "60 Minutes"... "Why, you send it ahead in the Rolls."

Personally, I do the soft bag behind the seat with my wife's stuff. I pack my stuff all around the roof panels and her feet. (I don't have a Rolls or a valet.)
