I was wondering who on here, who lives in S. California is going to be able to make it? I'm planning on attending, if I feel okay.

I did not know Ben personally however we have shared comments on the 996 forum in the past and I found him to be very knowledgeable and sincere indeed.
Our deepest thoughts are with his family. May he rest in peace.
