Carrera GT Crash at Fontana - 6/2/05

From what i gathered on ferrarichat and rennteam, the passenger was a perspective buyer of a CGT. He passed away instantly, and ben was the one flown away in the helicopter.
His wife was not in the car, a friend of the family called her to see if it was Ben, and it was.
RIP, Ben

I am yet another person on here who never met Ben, never even had an exchange with him over the internet, yet admired the spirit he brought to this CGT board. To a casual observer like me, "ben in lj" appeared to be the backbone of this board, the driving enthusiasm that shared the CGT experience with everyone.
I, too, will pray for him and his family, and I hope someone close to him on this board will share these comments with his family so they may appreciate how many enthusiasts he touched without even knowing.

I'm at a loss for words for Ben's death. I just met the guy on the April 30th autocross here in San Diego. He was a great guy and had such enthusiasm for Porsches and a true family guy. This is tragic and truly unfortunate. Many people in the Porsche Community are at a loss for words.
Rest in Peace Ben. May God Be With You In Heaven.

This is just unreal, I found out about this a few hours ago and have been sick to my stomach ever since. Ben was a great guy, I have known Ben since Funcarsonline and always enjoyed his presence and participation. He also was a big UM fan and if I am not mistaken he went there as well. I have not talked to him in awhile but last time we had talked about going to a caines game togther when he came to visit. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and especially his wife and daughter. You will be missed
