mike, can you tell us where you tapped into
power for the V1 in the CGT without killing the DC outlet in the glovebox? tia
btw, you saved me from a large ticket today. i think i might just buy another as a result so i can leave one in the CGT.

The cobbler's kids have no shoes!
With less than 200 miles on the odo, I haven't devoted enough time to the problem to do any better than the glove-box outlet.
As soon as I figure it out, I'll post soemthing.
Don't hold your breath waiting for this info since I'm notorious for deep deliberations (procrastination). It's going to require some one-on-one with an exploded diagram of the dash and windshield header trim.
I'll probably consult with the dealer and have them actually do it.

They custom make the bracket and then mount it into the overhead/map light area, above the rearview mirror. They then tap into the hot wire from the overhead/map light. This enables the V-1 to come on when you start the car, then, when you you exit the car, the V-1 will power down when the overhead lights cycle down. You do not have to worry about turning it on or off.
When we get our guy to do it, I'll take some pics and get info to pass on to you all.
Happy driving!

Yeah I guess I can do that but I like it being on it's own circuit really not sharing any draw from anything else and with a greater current capacity although i doubt the v1 draws that kind of power-
