Speculation on next Porsche hypercar
Do you guys have any information or speculation on the next "halo" hypercar in the Porsche line-up to succeed the CGT and the 918 Spyder?
I've heard some reports that it will be all-electric, which I can't help but feel would be a disappointment.
I've also heard some rumors of a return to the V10, maybe turbocharged, maybe with electric assist like the 918...
Are there currently any hints we can look to, regarding the next halo car?

Porsche will not do a new hyper car unless it is a real step forward from the 918.
If they do a hybrid, Porsche can only do slightly better than the 918 even with today's tech.
If they do a electric, they will wait for solid state batteries tech to be ready as that would be a real step forward.
As Porsche has not started development, it remains to be seen if it will be hybrid or electric.
In any case, the new hypercar is a while away - earliest would be 5 years from now.
The 918 is still the ultimate Porsche for a while.

In July 2021, VW Group's Porsche and Rimac announced that they have agreed to create a joint venture that will incorporate Volkswagen's high-performance Bugatti brand as well as Rimac Automobili. The new venture will be called Bugatti Rimac. Parent company Rimac Group will have a 55% stake in the joint venture, while Porsche will hold a 45% stake in the company.[15] in June of that year, Porsche stated it was one of the participants in a new €500 million round of fundraising.[16

Pure electric has 2 obstacles - waiting for production ready solid state batteries, and market acceptance of EV hypercars is not there yet.
Partially because of the above, Bugatti’s next hypercar (Chiron successor) will be hybrid.
As I said earlier, it remains to be seen if Porsche’s next hypercar will be hybrid or EV.
Regardless, even if revealed in June, it will be 5 years before the car hits the road
BTW, I will be at Le Mans with Porsche next month. Hopefully, will find out!

if it's an EV I don't think there will be anywhere near the demand...especially if it continues the price trend... sorry but 1-2M USD for a BEV is not interesting to me at all. would rather drive a revuelto for 650k and get 1000hp and the v12.
hybrid is fine by me- so is AWD. but the best part of the 918 was not the battery or the tech, it was the noise of the V8.
if they do a hybrid, they'll sell out and it will be a hit. if they do a BEV, then why would people wait 4-5 years? just get a Battista now- those are gorgeous.

The poster above is spot-on. Porsche can't just do a pure EV; other companies already are doing that too well. I hope they do something truly interesting, but I am having a hard time figuring out what they can possibly do that hasn't been done already.
Additionally, if I were interested in buying this car, and had the money to burn, what would my chances of getting an allocation be as a new Porsche customer without much track record buying these cars? Next to zero? Are the only people getting the next Porsche supercar basically the ones with long-standing relationships with dealers already?
