Speculation on next Porsche hypercar
#16
Pure electric or Hybrid are not the only 2 possibilities.
There is one more path Porsche could take with their next hypercar...
If solid state batteries are not production ready, and hybrid tech is not sufficiently advanced from that of the 918, Porsche could go analog with their next hypercar.
Surely, Porsche is not unaware of the recent market successes of multi-million dollar analog cars.
Singer DLS, Ferrari's Icona series, and Gordon Murray's cars have all sold extremely well at the $2mm+ level.
So, Porsche could do a "heritage" style analog hypercar, a Carrera GT successor, perhaps inspired by a historic race car. And perhaps play up the e-fuels angle.

I can see that - if Porsche made the ultimate analog IC nostalgia car to "close out" the IC era (Internal Combustion Remastered Edition ), it would definitely sell. Heck, I may even want one, if it's old school car made with the newest possible tech, and I'm devoid of nostalgia.

TBH, I kinda love it. If they can actually get it to weigh 3000 lbs and make it as fast as promised, its pretty cool...even though it would have obv been even cooler with a hybrid motor. I do bet this bolsters the 918 market even more though.

rimac was like 3400 lbs with 1950 hp. so a smaller battery would mean less weight...it's plausible especially with RWD they could get to 3000lbs.
the game I want to play with this one:
how many parts can we eliminate between concept and road version?
side cameras vs mirrors
yoke steering wheel
rear glass
speedtail/ senna windows
seats
brown paint
mclaren doors
???
