I bought my first Porsche when I was 16 with the money I earned delivering the newspaper(Washington Post) and other odd jobs that used to be meant for kids.(Mowing lawns, shoveling driveways, raking leaves etc...)
A 1966 Irish Green 912. It was 1983 and Risky Business had just been released and in my little mind I was the coolest kid around. I also bought a Tangerine Dream cassette tape and played it full blast cruising downtown Georgetown, again the coolest kid around ... That was the start of my love affair/obsession with Porsche. Fast forward 20+ years later the CGT was released...I immediately went out and bought the first yellow matchbox version I could find knowing one day I would have a real one. So here are the two cars that have been my motivation both at home and sitting on my desk for the past 15 years until I could afford one. Keep your eye on the prize now matter how long it takes!
20 hours from now I get to pick her up .....
Agree. Be patient with clutch and overall car, for that matter. The CGT took me longer than any car I've owned BY FAR to get truly comfortable behind the wheel. Now, I'm so used to the clutch and drive it so often, I tend to stall my OTHER cars when I first hop in. So muscle memory eventually sets in. BUT it took me a solid year and lotta miles before the GT felt 2nd nature behind the wheel. Once you get there, the experience goes to whole new level IMO.
