Great review - appreciate Doug video reviews mostly due to similar size

200k / 1M value engine out / running costs appear to be easier to swallow but real time vs book time would be interesting.

Mine and one in this video add many others are just fine without an engine out 15 years later - rolling art wins

I'm glad to hear that. I got news in other sub forums that my two other cars are set to soon self destruct. One's engine will grenade and the other turn to a pile of rust. I never thought my GT would be the reliable of the three.

after my strange out of the blue MRSA knee infection... hell I couldn't careless if the world blows up let alone a few engines.
just enjoy life, drink latte, eat sugar cubes and have waygu steak.

Porsche Exp ATL heard 150.00 per vs book - 30k+ this seems to be better option vs book as mechanics beat book by 1/2 so owners pay double hourly rate
Would love to know how many real hours an engine out and clutch takes -
No worries look forward to seeing cars torn apart - perhaps it is time for a full time mechanic and shop

^ I think from racking the car to actually have the engine out of it, it's close to 10 hours?
the engine out service itself is not $30k
but once it's out, while in there, if you clutch is close to 28, some will do it. I think its' $20-30k just on clutch parts.
batter is very hard to get to unless it's on rack, might as well get battery
tires are cheap $1800 or so. might as well get that.
if your have leaking shocks, they are not repairable per book (they can be repaired, but not at dealer), new set of shocks is close to $20k (OEM)
if RMS or FMS lease, well fix that too.
if you have some cracks on belly plan... pls sit down first. each panel are $10k +
they add up quickly.

but if you just need engine service it's usually <$20k

Battery is not that hard to change...Just take the rear wheel off and remove the plastic cover. Changing the battery on a Cayenne is harder....

Nice video.... did anyone notice the ascotbrown luggage-set on the darkgrey interior? I thought the luggage-set matched the interior. Or might this be a special option?

I think it's called "my CGT was missing the luggage set, so I went on Ebay and bought the only set available for me in the wrong color"

the batt itself is not hard
but the remove rear right wheel you need to get car up on lift. I won't not jack just one corner
it takes some good effort to get the car on. rack and strap it down
and American dealer labor rate is high
so when ever my car is on rack, battery is checked for health, if it's below 75% it's replaced.

Carrera GT luggage could be specified in any of the standard interior colors, irrespective of the car's interior color.

That said, doing a little research, the car in the video is WP0CA29845L001401 which indeed came with matching Dark Grey luggage when new.

Just wonder if it's better to go to Porsche Atlanta factory 150.00 per hour plus parts.
Bought a CGT NOS clutch 8k years ago from a dealer who sold his franchise - seeing your post he had a ton of CGT parts .50 on the dollar.
Whatever the costs are for maintenance my car has near doubled - can't say that about any other car so it's easy to justify the CGT and I think many are in a like place.
