Testing Waters...May Sell CGT silver on black
#16
Been there done that and could never release the CGT.
Last month went back an forth again on adding the F40 decided on the Senna.
While i love the F40 to bring one over is a lot of brain damage mods etc - no thanks on US.
For the money i would take my CGT back to Porsche and have a one off or add a Singer vs a Ferrari mechanic being on payroll.

I've owned 3 CGT and 1 F40. I would never trade for the F40 unless you just want garage art.
F40 is a little boring to drive, brakes are like an f150 and many suffer from turbo cut out. I'd own both, but I'd never choose the F40 over the CGT.

Doesn't get any more real than this Thank you Jamie for your first hand opinion. This is what I love about the forum, guys with experience that don't have a dog in the fight. Of course there are guys that just want garage art, nothing wrong with that.

Having done miles in F40 and the closely related 288 GTO, I can't agree with this one...
The F40 is a product of its time, over 15 years earlier in development than the Carrera GT. But, it is an icon in its own right not just for what it did at the time, but for the driving experience too.
But, as with any older car, you have to have a good one that is in a great state of tune to get the "right" experience.
