Default After market steering wheel for cgt?

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket wheel to their Carrera GT ? I find the stock one thin and slippery when I'm panting and sweating behind the wheel

i would love a nice alcantara wheel

has anyone done a swap?

I have done it on my CGT with MACarbon's steering wheel. It's basically a stock wheel retrim with your thickness, material and stitching preference! Price is expensive compared to some of the other companies, but quality is top notch!

Thicker grip with carbon fiber and silver 12 o'clock marker

Full leather and stitching in the back part

Wow that looks great! I'd like full alcantara tho like the new GT cars...I get sweaty palms when I'm pushing the car! Guess I could wear a pair of racing gloves...won't look too lame hahahaha

I asked Porsche Reading about swapping to a smaller diameter wheel (997 gt3 or 918 were my suggested swaps) some years ago but was told I was crazy to think about it. Shame as one of the few issues I have with the cgt is that the wheel is for me too damned big. Well that and the seriously plasticky 996 indicator stalks...how those indicators got through a car of the build quality of the cgt still really puzzles me I have to admit..

I was told by the CGT guru that any 996 wheel will fit...so maybe that helps?

Saw this on Instagram. Done by a shop in Germany as I recall.
