Default Do you like Porsche? I know you do. Get in here. :)

I contracted Wilco Machiels, an ex engineer for Porsche, and now full time model maker to do me a diorama for my new sim racing room. I wanted a scene from the early 70s Martini Racing Porsche winning cars. If you don't know who this guys is head over to Wilcodioramas.com and check out his work.

The level of detail is truly amazing, and photo don't really do it justice. The diorama is about 32 inches wide, by 11 inches tall and 9.5 inches deep. It contains over 70 LED lights to simulate the garage lights and even the TV crew spot light functions. There are just so many things going on in this scene including a couple hidden things you really have to look to see. Anyway, check it out.

I'm currently building a GT2 Porsche sim racing rig. I'll post the finished project here.

Oh, this piece is 1 of 1. Wilco doesn't make copies, and all his works are unique. They only appreciate in value.

This is his largest piece to date.

KKK / Blitz turbo sticker is period and marque inaccurate. Blitz is a Japanese tuning shop... They commissioned KKK to make the turbos for their turbo kits but really only for JDM cars and that logo is from the 90's.

Dunlop logo / font from the 70's is different also.

Just trying to be picky

As a Porsche fan and a model builder myself, I LOVE THIS. Most of the stuff I've made sits unpainted, or just a simple paint job. I would love to have a realistic diorama like this.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for this, and does he take requests?

S14kev, I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. But thanks for adding to the thread LOL.

jagdhund, it was $2500. He does indeed take requests. Tell him you saw Wil's Porsche Martini diorama. Let me know what he says.

He's on vacation now but will be back in a month I believe.

Incredible.

It took him about 10 months to complete this one, about a year to finalize the case and everything I believe. Its a steal for $2500.

What an amazing piece of art. $2500 is an absolute bargain when you consider the materials and the time. Obviously it's a labour of love for him.
