Fantastic! Any more (interior) of the R? The GT4 is awesome too!

Here's most of my diecast collection. Some examples are nicer than others.

Here is the Minichamps cabrio on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Porsche...UAAOSw~OdVXKow

Those 1:43 Minichamps are definitely more expensive than they used to be though.

A Cayman R is going to be hard to find. But..

Somebody makes this RC car. A bit brighter than Peridot, but it is green! (It's a no name brand, I probably wouldn't leave batteries in it for a prolonged period!).

Or this tiny 1:87 scale..

Welly makes a 1:18 Cayman in Signal Green:

^click pics for links

Aside from those, there are lots of 987 Caymans in many sizes, many colors. Including some other Signal Green ones.

Special exhibit? Or do you have VIP access to the Warehouse?

Thank you for the info! I found the RC model (from this thread) and ordered it a few days ago. It seemed to be the best available option. I have low expectations and I'll probably never put batteries in it. My car had black factory wheels and the RC car comes close (even though the paint isn't quite right). I can ignore the euro plate on the nose

I've seen plenty of 987 models but not in the R trim.
No - I'm not a VIP nor do I have access.

I also wrote to Tobias at this web site. His work is amazing, but I don't think he is still in business. Hoping for a reply...

Every time I see a photo of my car it tugs at me, and if I could have kept it I would have. I think this will be the one I'll always regret (and the buyer promised me first right of refusal if he ever sells).

Your friend is very lucky!!

Updated post: side by side photos. Paint color is definitely more Viper Green Metallic, but for under $50 it's darn good!

I believe he is still in business, but could be wrong. He is a frequent poster on www.modelcarforum.de (better brush up on your German).

Regardless, if that doesn't work out there are a few folks who do the same work. I'll send you a PM later with some people you can contact if you are interested.

Hmmm - I just received a PM from someone else, and I checked my settings. They are enabled. That's very odd. I'll try PMing you. Update: PM just sent.

Me and my wife started collecting larger scale models of cars we have owned
Kyosho Beetle cabrio 1:18 Amazing quality and detail. Better than the Norev Porsche
Porsche 997.2 C2S cabrio Norev 1:18 . We have an identical 997.1 but I can't find the Norev 997.1 white cab anywhere in 1:18)
Lancia A112 Abarth 1:24 (we had a Junior not Abarth)
Renault Laguna phase 2 scale 1:43

I received the RC Cayman R. I am impressed. My expectations were very low, and even though the color is off (it's more like a Viper Green Metallic rather than Peridot) - the detail is far better than I would have guessed. They got the GT2 bucket seats correct, and the dash. The tail and headlights are a bit off, and the paint isn't perfect, and the rear calipers are in the wrong place - but otherwise it's darn good.

I heard back from Tobias at exclusive-porsche-models.de. He quoted around 1000 Euros for a model which would have to start from a Cayman S as there are no Cayman R models from which to build. He has done two, and it's a lot of work.

For now I'll be happy with the RC model and continue to look for less expensive alternatives. I can fix the rear caliper placement (I think). I'm sure Tobias' work is spectacular, but I'm not looking to spend that much.

Thanks for all the info. This place has been a wealth of information!
