It really was an impulse purchase! And it's really too big for my tiny 20x28 3-car garage.

Hard to know what it's worth, I think I'll probably sell it on BringaTrailer as a no-reserve charity auction.

I might put some small LED bulbs in the headlights so they could light up, we'll see.

Headlights mounted (I did not wire them, but the next owner could do that pretty easily), headlight covers fabricated, just sitting in place now, I'll attach them tomorrow.

Then I guess I'll be done.

I would imagine Bruce Canepa or someone representing a dealership or museum will be in touch ASAP, very very cool nice work porschephile!

Also just discovered another photo of the car at Sebring in 1989, where it finished third.

The nose has been accepted by BringaTrailer, I'll update this when I know the schedule of the auction.

@centerpunch I don't know how I found this post, but that's pretty awesome.

Makes me think that could be a cool livery for my 718 GT4

Whoa that's super rad! Really great execution too. Wish I had to mount it in my garage!

I think this nose was used on 962 #139 when it finished 3rd at Sebring in 1989.

A couple other photos of the car

Turns out that exact 962 (in its later black Havoline livery) is being auctioned at Pebble Beach in a few weeks on August 19th or 20th.

Interesting timing!

That pic would make a cool poster for a garage.

Bringatrailer has drafted a listing, should go live soon I suppose.

Bruce Leven's son Michael confirms that it appears to be the nose from 962 #139 that finished 3rd at Sebring in 1989.
