Went to the Macan unveiling party last night...
Got an invite thru PCA Citrus region. Porsche of Orlando hosted a great event. Both Macan models were in the showroom. It was a great party with nice live music and everything first class like you would expect for a Porsche dealer. The Macans were a feast for the eyes, although it was hard not to notice the many fine looking ladies in attendance, as well. I really like the Turbo, but the extra money certainly is a factor. They were pretty well optioned at $omething like $65k and $84k, but I was a little surprised they opted to add the Burmeister upgrade and skip the air suspension on the Turbo. I would not have made that choice. I have to think that in a few years there will be some S's making near 400Hp and some Turbos making 500. "Thats just the way it is..." or is it "Roll with it..."? I just hope they start offering some more color options soon. It seems the Blue is coming, but Guards Red or Ferarri Yellow or Kelly Green would look great on the Macan too. I cared for a black Porsce once and that was enough work to last for a lifetime. And the dark colors offered soon get old, IMO.
The only bad part of the evening was at the end when one of the valet parking guys drove my GTS over two plastic cones and I could see them scuffing the bottom of my rocker panel. What was this guy thinking about?

Our local Porsche Macan unveiling soiree is this weekend.
Are you saying I should bring a stack of $1 bills to the event?

I went to a similar launch party last night; outside the dealership we had a bunch of Marin-ite teens protesting the event ... wait for it ... because ... you are NOT going to believe this ....
"Paul Walker was killed in a Porsche"
No, I'm not kidding, I dont know whether to laugh or cry at this, a bunch of entitled teens who thought that the cause they should put their energy into was to protest the complicity of Porsche in the death of
their favorite actor ...
WTF!!!

BTW the Rhodium Silver S was really cool ... I was less enthralled by the turbo with the beige/wood interior

My dealer has their launch event on saturday - still waiting for the demo cars! Hopefully they will arrive in time. I've got first dibs on driving one. Expecting 3 or 4 Macan S cars, Turbos in a few weeks. A couple ordered cars are already in - looked but didn't touch.

I'd love to go to that party too but we won't be up there for another 4-6 weeks yet. They throw some v good parties in Chi Town.
My wife even likes the Macan. And she is super frugal and doesn't like to spend money, but gave me some signals that I can soon go to the dealers to talk about an order. I hate to pay MSRP but really would like to order what I would want for options.

Went to an unveiling party last night (Washington State). Interesting that PCNA chose to do it at a private residence instead of a dealership. It was a great party. I borrowed a friend's 928 since mine is still half primered from the install of rear fender flares. When I pulled up, the host was very kind and instructed Valet to park the 928 in front of his home instead of offsite parking.
There it joined other Porsche's on display: A brand new 991 Turbo, Two Panameras (one was a hybrid) Cayenne, 911C4S Cab (maybe anniversary based on its blue color?) , 930, and a 993 Turbo (w/996 wheels).
Of course, its not a real party until the CGT arrives:
Guess what's under the sheet?
The homeowner/host was very gracious. His home took two years to build, and he stated that the builders were still there earlier in the day finishing up.
Here's the view off his back yard:

Awesome Dude! That must have been one great party! Really sweet 928s are rare today, and were never plentiful. They were right to include it up front.

Went to the release party hosted by Sonnen two week ago. First class all the way. Poured Rombauer until there was only Silver Oak left late into the event. My boys were given empty cigar boxes near the end. Tempting seeing an optioned up Porsche with a Turbo badge and sticker under $100k. Silver Macan S photo was from the other day.
