Thanks Glen,
If I strike out on new I will have to consider that. How much? Any idea on the age? The rubber starts falling apart after so much heat exposure I think. I know the later set up is preferred but I want to restore the car to its original condition including the old early rear wing which I still have

Original Air Filter
My original 2001 air filter suffered a crack in the red rubber housing which allowed the entire assembly to droop and then get melted on the belt and elsewhere. Bit of a mess to clean up. I converted to the updated carbon fiber assembly. This is an update that the factory encouraged all Super Cup and other teams to make in order to keep the earlier six Cups competitive. As such, this seems historically correct to me. But, I am not a vintage racer so what do I know?

Ted I agree with your observation in addition to the air box upgrade within the 2001 SuperCup spec the factory changed the rear wing to the current style I think it comes down to the definition of authenticity if car raced in the configuration then it is historically correct a lot like liveries over the course of a race cars life it could have run in many different liveries but displaying and racing the car in one of the correct liveries makes it historically correct. My opinion only

But, again, this is late 996 cup, not early. Doing the conversion for running the car, and then back to the original later might be an option too.
If you are also looking at the conversion, we have the conversion parts too. I do have one that I had planned on selling on Ebay. It has some damage from riding around in the box of parts, so I can not sell it as new. The new ones we sell for $650. I would sell this one for $400.
Thanks
Ed
