Default 996 GT2 RSR

Hi,

I'm racing the Swedish time attack championship in the top class called Unlimited.

In January ill bought a car that been standing sleeping since 2009 when the car was build. it only was tested a couple of laps before it was kept away from the public...

A short presentation about how the care was build.

A new empty body (996 GT2) were purchased from Porsche GmbH.
The body was sent to the Freisinger Motorsport in Germany, where they mounted the cage, the air jacks and welding bodywork according RSR specifications.
Then they sent it on to the DP Motorsports, who built the DP wide body RSR kit in carbon fiber.
After that the car came to Sweden and was finished in 2005-2009.
Some details of what is in the car:
 one piece floor in carbon fiber
 GT2 suspension whit uniballs.
 GT2s calipers
 Engine GT2 with GT2 turbos and 997.2 intercoolers.
 Ethanol Converted with catch tank and additional pumps in front and larger injectors.
 The instrument is STAC with log functions
 Oakley sequential shifter
 RSR gearbox Guard GT1 differential
 Oil cooling and pressure lubrication in the gearbox (CUP)
 Öhlins 3-way suspension front and rear
 GT2s stabilizer front and back
 BBS Monobloc (GT1) 12.5 "front wheels
 BBS split (GT1) 13.5 " rear.
 Tire Size: front 30 / 65-18 Rear 31 / 71-1
 Power 650 hp (100-200 Kph 5,1 sec)
 Weight 1160 kg

This first year was mainly a shake down whit the car too se that it was functional and that it worked okay!
It has been a struggle to get every thing sorted whit a lot of problems ,but mostly small things overall the car was relatively functional.

After an season mostly for testing I finished 3rd overall!
1-3 was Porsche GT2 RSR this season!
Il now got an list on things that I need to do before next season.
The most crucial are to install an ABS!!!
It was the first time ill raced a car whiteout ABS and it cost me an fortune in flat spotted tires!

I'm managed too find an complete ABS setup from an 996 CUP whit wiring loom that are on the way to me now!

Her are the list for this winter...

>ABS
> 70mm air tube turbo intake
> Lightweight Pulley
> leakage steering gear
> renovate damper
> New ECU program (Protomotive)
> Water leakage in the front
> Replacing cros strut rear suspension (steel-alu)
> oil temperature sensor
> RSR hubs, sub frame and the wishbones
> Electrical power steering
> New gear ratio
>....

Nice job on the build. That's super clean and you can tell you spent a lot of time trying to keep the weight down. Congratulations on your results too!

The whole series was broadcasted in Swedish television, but unfortunately I don't have access to any material.
They would probably reales an dvd from 2015 series!

Hopefully the gearbox would sustain the torque...
