Looking at where you live, your fortunate that it's not something you have to worry about!

Not so much these days but I went to school in Toronto and Chicago so I remembers what snow looks like.

I'm guessing snow driveway marker is to either a.) measure the snowfall when there's been some or b.) find the driveway when there's been a lot.
