One thing that might mess this up is that Porsche might handle the vacuum in the engine differently on street cars to meet emissions requirement. So, even if you fit the sensor on the engine, the data might not be useful. Not sure how you'd figure that out

sensor needs to be horizontal? I zip tied mine vertical, guess I will move it and bend the hose so that it is parallel to the fuel rail...

Typically these sensors are mounted so that the opening for the pressure port is pointed down. This is so that any moisture that builds up will not impact the pressure readings. In practice, depending on the hose length, it probably doesn't matter.

Matt is correct. Remember that this sensor is subjected to oil vapor and you do not want oil to build up in the sensor.
