Default software to run Bosch MSA cable?

What kind of software does it require to read Bosch ECU through the MSA cable shown below? Are these cable pure gold that's why it's so expensive?

Hey!

You need the Modas-Software from Porsche Motorsports.

The software itself is cheap compared to the cable.

Make sure you get the MSA 2-cable!

Forgot to say: Get the Software-CD that includes your cars model-year! Otherwise it won't work because it does not connect.

Give the guys your MY and they'll send you the correct one.

Thanks for the advice. I have a 2007 cup and it did come with couple CD - I thought they were the motec data collection CD but will take another look ... so much work just for simple engine data

Default MODAS interface

Has anyone used the MODAS KLC2 interface cable (2003-2005) with a USB adapter for the parallel printer interface?

I have the software and cable(see link), but I have not found a replacement laptop with a parallel printer port.

Nop, but a MSA box II will be easier. It has an USB interface

What is the source for the MSA cable? I got the KIC2 cable and software from PMNA many years ago. Back when it cost as much as two sets of tires!
Is the MSA cable as costly?

Thanks,
RPM

Around 800 €. I got mine from Manthey, but any reputable shop that sells Bosch Mortorsport (cheap way) or Porsche (expensive one) should be able to provide you with one.
