Default Bosch ABS - Wheel speed sensors info

When I brang my car to Manthey at the beginning of the year for the ABS install, they have installed everything and a Bosch interface box (Wheel speed signal splitter with 1 connector) to be able to get wheel speed signals back to the Motec. (The ABS installation involve replacing the original sensors with new Bosch ones)

But... They have not finished the process by wiring the damn thing to the Motec. I have used the workaround of getting the speed info via the GPS for this season and haven't taken the time to sort it out till now.

Having done my home work, I seem to have 2 options : Getting the wheel speed signals for each wheel via CAN (-the Bosch ABS M4 one - but have to define the message format, and so on, Motec side, and fear to somewhat "pollute" the CAN bus of the car...), or via the Bosch interface box, but I do not really see how : May I wire the "Open collector Signal to ECU" from each wheel directly to the ADL2 ? And if so, how do I calibrate the inputs ? (pulses/rev & circ)

Do someone have any information on this ?

Just to make things clear, each wheel speed sensor is connected to the ABS harness and the ABS harness is then connected to the car harness at every sensor, at the old connectors for the original sensors?

If so, they maybe forgot to switch the settings in the ADL dash from magnetic sensors to Hall effect sensors.

+1 on the forgotten switch to Hall-Mode!

Just switch it in the Motec-configuration and upload it to the dash. Then it works! Had exactly the same issue when we installed the Bosch-ABS in the 2011 Cup.

It works ! A big thank to you ! :-)

The only remaining thing is that the RR sensor seems dead. When I turn the rear wheels, which turn together due to the LSD, the only sensor that moves in value is the RL. I hope that the Bosch ABS soft is able to check the sensors.

If it is toasted, do someone have a source in Europe for this kind of spare part ?

My pleasure.

It's a standard road part from Porsche, so you can get it at your normal dealer. Think it's from the 996 GT3 from the top of my head.

Are you sure ? Manthey replaced all the sensors with the ones that were in the M4 kit. (which is not a prrof that you are wrong in any way)

That would be good news, very simple to source !

Yes, I am very sure. You need part no 99660640702, same on all 4 corners. That's what's delivered with the kit, no matter what anyone might have told you. ;-)

Quick check, look in all the autosport connectors that there isn't one pin is pushed back. Quite common on new looms that pins haven't been seated properly and are pushed back as they're first connected. Have fun!

If u need a good sparky in France I have good one, if any further problems.
