It would be nice if they posted top speeds, you would be very happy

Otherwise, not so happy due to throttle position sensor problems causing lost track time which we needed to learn the track and get the handling right

Well, Glen ran out of gears in his 3.8RSR/996 cup under 160... the 997 RSR and R are very wide so not sure what top speed they hit. I drove poorly, with no track time to learn the track or set up the handling due to what we think is a faulty throttle position sensor, so I never got to run along with the top drivers. But the fastest car I saw was the GT1R 993 turbo of Bill Dawson that was about as fast as my 4.0 in acceleration. Not sure of my exact top speed, but about 163 as I chickened out and broke at the 200 foot mark. I can't believe the F1 cars brake at about 50 feet at MUCH higher speeds. Sick.

Yup. The data I have from testing/coaching in 2 different 7 Cups at COTA (prior to the PCA weekend) was 161-167 mph tops

Some of it might be aero, as we trimmed out the 167 car a bit, and also altered overall ride height... Some of it might be you suck in 11 lol

I have an RSR wing way up high in the rear and we had it at a high angle as the rear end would not stick, plus wider fenders front and rear so I have more drag than a stock cup.

Where did you brake, Peter?

This was MoTeC data, FYI, on both cars (different days too).

I saw 154-155 just barely touching the limiter in 6th. Braking at 175ish.

Mike, I was braking at the 200. I wish I had your rear problem.... My biggest problem in my new (to me) car is that I can't get the thing to turn because the back is so planted. We kept taking wing out and I think by the end I was running about 7 degrees of wing.

My 6th gear seems really long as I never sniffed the limiter...but again, I'm "challenged" in 11.... I watched Leh Keen's video a zillion times and he didn't get over 161.

Fellows, don't compare apples to oranges.

MoTeC should be set up with a corrected speed channel (ground speed), which is a calculated channel to avoid errors.

You need to know if what you're comparing is coming off the wheel speeds, 10 Hz or Race-Grade GPS to be able to accurately compare, car-to-car. Most vMax speeds that I saw were 155-162, corrected.

Given the fact that there's only one place this occurs on the track and that you're there for only a fractional percentage of time of the entire lap, this number is absolutely meaningless, IMO.

With all of the 75-100 mph Esses and the 17-18-19 complex in the back, I'd much rather give up (as Corey did) terminal velocity to nail the car down through sections that are AT AERO FAVORABLE speeds for a LONG time.

If you did T11 correctly, there wasn't a lot of variation anyway. FAR better to have a lower vMin for a shorter time than vice versa. And that went for a number of the slower corners...

My Cayman guys were in the 140-142 range, and braking at 125...

Yeah, agreed, Peter. One of these 2 cars started with a TON of wing, way too much. Which is why we really trimmed it out. It was still very good in the other sections you mention, and also 1-2, and 19, which is WAY faster than it looks. The ride height alterations helped both ends stick better, and didn't kill our turn in. About the only place we got push was in 13, but using curb really helped that. Yes, Cayman definitely braking at 130-125.
