Default Porsche 993 Gt2 banana wing

Hello,

I am looking for a banana wing for a 993 gt2,
at the moment we have a 142cm wide spoiler, but this is to small, is just doesn't look good.

I know that they have a 60" spoiler at gt-racing but that is 150cm so that doesn't make a big difference.

I did my research and i found 3 types of banana wing's:

the small one:

the bigger one:

And the big one that I'm looking for but can't find:
- i can't find a good picture of it, but as you can see it is not much wider than 60" but is is longer or wider:

Its made in Germany I just can't remember by whom. These were made towards the end of the racing life of the 993 when the regulations were pretty loose. It's better than standard banana wing but has now been replaced by the large straight wings as they are lower drag

I think the standard old banana wing works just fine

Thank you perrew !

But Spartan you think the big ons from '98 is just fine and doesn't have any disadvantages compared with the 97'

I believe the banana wings where originally designed for the rule that stated the wing could not extend past the profile of the car when viewed from above. That is why it curved to fit inline with the rear bumper/quarters. A straight 67in wide wing from a 2010 and newer cup would be easier to find and probably be as much downforce as needed to match a gt2 evo front. The evo2 wings where pretty insane though. The chord length was massive. The rook racing GT2 was an awesome car.

I was familiar with the rules, but you told me a little bit more details what i like , I contacted hahn-gfk and the measurments of the roock racing wing are 60" (150cm) by (40cm) 16inch, indeed the new gt3 spoilers are easier to get , but the banana wing fits in my eyes more to the car then à straight gt3 wing, also it has some historic value

Bingo the original banana wing from the mid 90's was developed due to the rules of the day. As the rules changed the wing was further developed for less drag. If this is for looks then that's one thing but if its for performance then the best would be a straight wing like a 997 RSR.

I think the banana wing looks the part and is period correct but I'm also not trying to win Le Mans Don't find myself wishing for more rear downforce but the front is another story. This of course was also restricted at the time due to rules and can be improved. Adding a large splitter below the EVO 1 splitter (close to factory ride height specs) on my car for example totally transformed the car.

But how much is the difference then between the big one and yours and yours and that from à rsr ? Will it be à big difference ?

And what type is your spoiler ? The 60" from gt racing ?

And another question haha, where's did you but the canards for your front bumper and the splitter ?

A friend of mine has the big wing on his 964 widebody and it was bought from Cargraphic in Germany some years ago. They can maybe help you.

Hi,
Some years ago we tried the large banana wing on a 993 RSR ( 380 hp ) and the result was that the car was less faster at the end of the straight after " l'eau rouge " in SPA track compared to a 993 cup ( 320 HP ) with the same driver. You need the 993 gt2 hp to use this wing......

Well that is a pretty big difference, but at the moment we are keeping the old wing because the rear decklid is schowing some cracks because the force the wing produces
