Thanks Mike. Your thread was very useful. Are you thinking of 2 holing your 6-3 airbox? Will that Kydex hold up to the heat?

Marc - just tested on a 'normal' GT3 with cup decklid - fit is perfect ie no need to change anything
The lifting required on my 01 cup was because the airbox fittings/seating weren't in the engine bay originally.

Matt, I'm using that Kydex on the Datsun in the engine bay in several areas. Airflow is sealed mostly and the bay gets very hot, the Kydex hasn't lost shape at all. Once it's heated the first time, it holds its shape.

I'm thinking that when I get around to doing the box mod on the 6-3, I'll do a direct ram air box with twin snorkels. I have it in my mind, but not on paper yet.

Hey Mike - sounds good! Thinking the KyDex - hard to get here but used by guys who make knife and gun holsters
- might be quite a neat/less messy way to make moulds for CF and FBG pieces. Have you seen that?

and yes it seems it should withstand the heat of the engine bay...

I've seen that video clip. Not tried that myself, but it would easily serve the purpose. I personally love the stuff... It's soooo versatile.

Get me the orders/commitments and addresses I'll confirm the cost inc shipping ie $230-250 range I think.

That also includes fitting the 997/cup style double scoop to top of decklid - happy to trade one of my under-scoops for one of those 'overs.'

Hope that works for you and the other 'early cup decklidders'

Matt
(ps - email me via my UCP profile pls)
sent you an email with info so you can verify shipping, let me know

i will start the process of modifying my top scoop to fit the cup Decklid. the problem i see with making more then one with the top Scoop would be the fit to the decklid, there so many companies that makes them. Original, Getty, Shaw to name some and they are not born all equal....

The product used for underscoop has a flex to it and can be adapted the the shape variation but the top scoop are CF or FBG so no flex there...

I will start from a 996 Rs scoop from my original decklid.

i would love to get my hand on a 997 pair of scoop

thanks Mark - mail replied - thanks for the list - seems $350 for the top ram air scoops is min (for FG not CF).

aside to the main thread (apologies to the OP )
Anyone ever ordered one from 911UK? will check with Stevo, Dan, UK board too.
I've read the FVD one disappointed a few folks before and Getty seemed to conversely hit the nail.

Found the 'two hump' 997 ones on HK site (rezvosport) but expensive and unsure re fit.

Pretty sure that my scoop originally came from Rezvosport. Boinkus ordered it for his cup decklid, but they sent him the CF one for the street by mistake, so he sold it to me. I was very impressed by the fit on my decklid. I was not expecting this good a quality.

Confirming that the scoop was originally ordered from Revosport and that the fit on the street 3 decklid was very good. Unfortunately I had ordered it for a Cup decklid.

Thanks Franc, Steve! The flat6-drysump force is clearly strong with the Canuks.

This is maybe a better "airbox" to start you proiect .
More fresh air in the airbox with dual air intakes .

that looks awesome - sorry I missed it but the 996 airbox was second hand and reasonable.

Sending a package to Montreal next week with an under-lid ram air scoop as above in post 1
- anyone want to join and save on postage? tomorrow is deadline. thanks

Was going to get one also, but decided to buy a lid with street innards, and cup appendages on the outside.

Also looking for this type of lid, who sells one? Preferably that can use stock hinges.

yes I heard thanks Franc! Jelli will love you even more for it
But the price delta must be quite big, especially if you're already sporting a 996 MkI or cup lid?

Matt, I still have the stock lid, not a cup, so would have to buy a lid regardless. Given a choice, I would rather get this hybrid solution, since it should be a direct fit with full functionality for the street components, and allow mounting of a cup wing. So no price delta for me.

Rod, Getty Design makes one of these lids, as does Cargraphic (or is it FVD?). Getting mine from a shop in Quebec City called Sublime http://www.sublimeauto.ca/ It will use stock hinges, latch, and allow to keep the engine bay fan.
