after driving the Cup for nearly two years and flat spot more than 3 sets of tires you would think I beg for ABS ... not at all! for the first time I feel totally connected with the machine and learn how to modulate brakes and not stand on it like a silly mule. The skill even translate to everyday driving. When traffic come up to a quick stop you see everyone stand on their brakes and cars stand on their nose .... I feather the brakes and come to a gentle stop

Plus I know you were looking for an ABS system for your Club car for a while....

I have driven both Cups with ABS and without, and if the series allows it great, if not.....then no one gets it.
I agree with you.. thats the problem..once someone has it then you MUST have it to compete.

I love my abs in my race car, but the reason I have it is the same reason you mentioned... because everyone else has them.

But I love racing my gokart without abs and finding the final few feet in the braking zone between zero and hero.

Anyone can late brake in a ABS car, but the late brakers without abs are the ones I oooooooooohand aaaaaaahhh at.

The less is more thinking, I guess thats why a lot of pro drivers love historic racing... no power anything...

as a porsche factory driver told me.....faster doesn't always equal more fun!

running door to door, fighting for top 10 position in the start or finish of a race with the stress levels through the roof. Silly lock-up mistake costs a position....

Yeah, ABS would be nice

Yes but that's racing. The guy behind you that didn't lock up and passed you deserves to win.

I've sent an e-mail asking that and a few other questions. My big question is whether or not the system extends the time between 'box rebuilds. I'm inclined to think it would, but you never know.

George you ran your 2010 without abs and did just fine.
I just want to wear a cool driving suit and have the car drive itself around the track! I am waiting for the 992 cup! haha.

I would also add that between flatspotting the tyres, but, more importantly, doing some bodywork with the car in front of you which has ABS, being an amateur who works to pay for Racing, ABS is the next thing to go in the car.

I agree, I'm talking about pro level racing.

Ok thats enough off topic for me. can't wait to see the pa time differnces between the 2012 997.2 & 2013 991 Cups at the F1 tracks for Supercup.

I'm going to guess 2-3 seconds based on mechanical grip and aero improvements.

Anyone know if there are issues with fixing/straightening some of the new aluminum/steel composite parts?

No, 2012. Only 2013 seems to be that black one full of aero appendages.
