crazy cool...

- pitot tube on the front so doing air flow work?
- wonder if the diffuser is a similar to the GT3 diffuser which has been covered on the test mules
- variable camber rear wing

will be great to see all these 991 derivatives on the track and see how they perform.

i always find it interesting that on the RSRs they put the wing well below the roofline of the car. i could be wrong but i always thought in most pro series you can run the wing height to the roofline. and being that high or backwards id believe would give more downforce.
on the 2010/2012 cups the have wider wings that sit taller and more back a smidge i think.

obvoiusly more downforce probably results in more aero drag, slower speeds on the straights, maybe with the traction control they feel they can make the car a bit faster without worrying about grip?

Very cool looking car. Can't wait to see pics of the new cup. If what I've heard is true then it is going to be a really strong car. Really want to see the new front suspension setup.

Gt2 rules : the wing must be under the roofline
Gt3 rules : the wing can be taller
Cup .... Porsche can do all that they want

Porsche OFFICIAL Team for WEC and 24h Le Mans 2013

For the 2013 racing season, Porsche AG will field two new GT racecars based on the newest generation of the Porsche 911 at the Le Mans 24 hour race and in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). For the first time since the overall victory in 1998, a factory team from Porsche will tackle the famed long distance classic in France.

The two new Porsche 911 RSR, which race in the GTE category, will be run by the Porsche AG Team Manthey. The role of team manager goes to the experienced endurance specialist Olaf Manthey, who has celebrated five overall wins with Porsche at the Nürburgring 24 hour race and recently fielded a 911 GT3 RSR in the International GT Open.

"The new 911 RSR is currently being developed by our engineers and tested by our works drivers," says Porsche Head of Motorsport, Hartmut Kristen. "What better time could there be to introduce the new car than the Porsche 911's 50th anniversary."
