Anyone got any info on what comes in:

It's listed in the PMNA 996 cup electric steering conversion info.

Surely you just remove the belt driven pump and associated gubbins, get a new V belt and then install your pump of choice up front.
What needs converted at the engine?

I haven't heard of anyone doing anything at the engine end other than remove the pump, I don't see what else there is to be done and search function didn't say otherwise but the engineer in me has a dull need to know what comes in this "kit" incase I've overlooked something obvious.
I've got money on a v belt, some cable ties and a few wires.

Asking and feeling stupid sure beats blowing up an engine and confirming it to everyone though.

They already have the electric conversion kit with another part number and name..

Can one get the lines and harness only

 

You have problems on the street GT3 in the belt dept. There's no Porsche belt to fit alternator,crank and AC without the power steering pump. You would need to source a belt from a third party.

Other than that it's just a bolt the pump wherever you want it mounted (front compartment), run the lines to and from the steering rack and wire it up.
It's a bit fiddly and time consuming but otherwise pretty straightforward.
You will have to take out your front compartment carpet though and lose some of the storage space up there.

You will ofcourse have to remove the existing pump and all lines. You will probably need the engine out to do this I'd imagine. Also underbody panelling will need to come off too.

 

Yes. you will need to measure out which ribbed belt that is needed once the un-used idlers are removed. I cant remember if getting the lines out is an engine r&i or not. Pretty sure you can partially drop the engine for removal of the lines. They are sectioned

 

This is a simple project. Just did it on a 996tt (same as GT3 for this operation). There is no conversion kit anymore (even though you have the bulletin with part # obviously). The pump lines are stupid expensive from Motorsports. If you have time, you can find some of the parts for less than a 1/10th the cost. I had only a few days so needed them all. Motor is simple (race car so no AC). Install new idler pulley from the RSR and you are set. I needed to install an extra washer for spacing so the belt was properly positioned on idler and was not contacting engine case. Cut off as much of the lines as i could over engine, and removed rest under car. No sense to remove motor just for this. You will need to make some brackets in engine compartment. And if you search carefully you will find how to wire pump in some previous threads. Other than power and ground, only 2 wires to install. One to a wire (cant remember off top of head) in the ABS harness for alternator sense (TB 61?) and one to the fuse block. Results were great. About 4 race weekends now with no issues.
