Yea it looks like my other posts got deleted due to being under a different name. Anyways I have a 2002 996 Cup Car, black. The car looks remarkably good for the year. The gearbox and motor both have around 18 hours on it so it is still good to go for a long time! It has Bilstein shocks, no rubber in the rear suspension (RSR style), and a bigger "World Challenge" wing as well. Price is set at 63,900.

OK, I think it is alright for me to jump in here since now I will not be stealing Camber's post.

I too have just started my search for a cup car. Looking for about the same thing Jim was. I do not mind some modifications since my main stomping grounds is going to be with NASA GTS, not with PCA in a cup series, but it would be nice that the car was modifiable back to conformance with the PCA GTC rules if the mood should strike.

Thanks

Ed

Congrats Jerry! Did you buy the silver car above? I am in FL as well, and look forward to another local car to run with!

Ok 996 cup owners....How many real life racing hours are we seeing these motors go? Not DE hours but hard core racing hours...

and TruSpeed...do you have a website with the 996 cup listing?

Default Probably a lot more hours than we think..

I have a 2000 Cup with 17,900 km of racing only on the original factory sealed engine, never freshened. It let go this fall, and is being replaced. Alessandro Zampedri was the driver for Team Kadach with this car in 2000, and I am the third club racer since then. Unfortunately, the hours can't be read on the 2000 cars, but I would think that this engine could have over 200 hours on it. Perhaps we could guess-timate on time and motion.

Club racing for 18,000 Killometers. Wow, that is a lot.

ALso, I had no clue that the engine cases still carried the 964 casting number. I knew they were similar, but not using the same casting.

Brant, this is a good question, but we should probably start a new thread for it.

If you want to start that thread, I am going to start another.

bgiere,

I have it listed in a few places on here and some other forums as well as the company website, TruSpeed.com. Its a black 2002 996 Cup Car. The car looks remarkably good for the year. The gearbox and motor both have around 18 hours on it so it is still good to go for quite a while! It has Bilstein shocks, no rubber in the rear suspension (RSR style), and a bigger "World Challenge" wing as well. Price is set at 63,900.
