Default 996 clutch release shaft parts help

anyone know how parts 3 and 4 on the parts drawing integrate with everything else?
from the descriptions it sounds like it fits through the center of the release shaft itself, part 10 but this doesnt seem to make sense.

no doubt its going to make perfect sense as soon as someone points it out and ill feel like an idiot.

to follow up my own post. is this just a fancy thing for removing the release shaft?
if so why does it have its own plate? ive always just used an M6 bolt to pull this shaft out.

The shaft/plate make it MUCH easier to install the fork shaft (10) and eliminates the plastic cap and stamped bracket (5,6,7) from a stock setup. The plate stays attached to the threaded rod (4) and bolts to the bell housing. It avoids the possibility of dropping the bolt and bracket into the bell housing and having to remove the tranny to get them back out. Makes putting the fork shaft in a breeze when doing the job in the car. We have been upgrading the 993's to this as well.
