Default ALMS driver numbers

Guys
LMS in Europe is allowing GTC cars in next year (Porsche 997 cup cars and Ferrari challenge) as LMP1 cars exit stage left.

What is the situation in ALMS with regards to number of drivers per car and levels in GTC?

The races in Europe will all be 6 hours so I am assuming it will be 2 amateurs and one pro doing 2 hours each. Is this the way it's done in ALMS or whats the situation

thanks
Pete

Pete,

Here in the GTC Class in ALMS, we have one 6 hour race and it's done with either 2 or 3 drivers. There is a limit on how many hours a Pro can drive but for the most part it's no more than 60% of the total race and if the race is longer, like the 12 hours of Sebring or Petite, there is a more calculated # for max drive times of a Pro vs Amateur. Plus, all drivers need to be "ranked" and put in either Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze based on their experience.....IMSA sends this form out to all ALMS GTC drivers.

Good news regarding GTC in LMS, would be great to run some races in Europe.

The GTC fields are looking a little small, I'd have thought they'd be much bigger with the number of Cup's being raced around the country. Any idea why that is? Maybe the long races are a little too resource intensive for a normal team to run a car? Or is it a lack of interest from the drivers?

I think only 7 GTC cars are allowed per race, they don't want too many getting in the way of the faster cars.

Looked it up, it's ten cars:

The GTC class will be limited to 10 cars
maximum. If more than 10 cars are entered for any Event, full season Entrants will be given priority.
