Default Question for all the gurus - what complete front end should I buy for a GT1 replica.

OK, Iam working on my GT1 replica project - tube chassis mid engine (996 TT + RSR Gearbox (upside down)

for the front I will pick a complete front end from a modern "11" to simplify things.

The dismantler had a couple to choose from;
- so what is best a 997 Turbo Front end, or a 996 GT3 front end. (lets say the price is the same to keep it simple)

or should I stick to a standard 996 front end, and upgrade it with goodies later (that will be initially a lot cheeper - but i suspect just plain stupid in the long run)

dampers/coils, discs & brakes will be a later question.

Where are you located ? I have a bare 2000 C4 front tub without body work for sale which might work for you.
I also have numerous other parts, fender, doors, interior, and more from 996,986,and Cayman models.
Let me know,

My shipping location would be my proxy in Linden, NJ

however I've sourced the complete front end(s), its a matter of choice, GT3 vs. Turbo, 996 vs. 997.

I need to know more about the differences basically...

A GT1 had a front double wishbone setup and I would think that since you are starting with a tube frame, you could replicate something like that. Fabcar has done some similar setups on their tube frame cars and I'd suggest you start there.

hi, I also tring to build a GT-1 recreation. the mechannical parts is almost complete, I need to build the chassis and the body/skin. I located some of original race cars worldwide. but it's almost impossible to get a body if it. one is in Florida. the gunnar racing. that is almost the original car, did you tried to talk there?
please let's help each other to complete our dream car!

None of the street cars or even the GT3 cup have anything like the RSR setup. Just buy the RSR parts if that's what you want. Not sure what street car parts you will need or what version is best, sorry!
