2006 997 Cup For Sale
Sold 6/6/11 Thank You
Very clean 997 Cup for sale in Denver. Paid $95k last winter, added $2k blipper mechanism and had transmission rebuilt by Chris Cervelli less than 3 hours ago. Asking $86k.
Motec dash reads 96 hours. Odo reads 7,3xx (I'm assuming that's miles?).
Car belongs to a friend and coaching client of mine who wants to go pro racing in a BMW . I had the opportunity to drive it a few laps at Inde Motorsports Ranch last weekend and the car is really a joy to drive. If I could afford it, I'd own it in a heartbeat!
Includes:
wand
cool shirt cooler
motorola radio
fuel cell
dry break fueling jug
2 sets wheels, one with brand new sticker Michelins
blipper mechanism
huge torque wrench
spare splitter

The motor is original, never rebuilt. I'm going to have Chris help me read the Motec to confirm hours, but pretty sure that's it. If correct, we think the previous owner represented the car as having less hours than it had at the time we purchased it last winter. Only found the 96 display this week! We have only put around 20 hours on the car since purchase late last year.

Just sent ECU to Todd Opperman in TX for a potential buyer. Good news is the car has just 65 hours! Bad news is it has one instance of a 10,700rpm over-rev. We are pretty sure this was done by the previous owner at around 25-30 total hours.
We also ran a dyno for NASA GTS classification. SAE adjusted was 372-374whp. With a fan blowing into intake to simulate running the car at speed on the track, the number jumped to almost 380.
Will post a new thread asking about the over-rev.
Owner has found the donor for his new car build and is anxious to sell this car. I'm sure he would sell quickly at $80k with both sets of wheels and one set of used tires (I could probably scrounge another used set if desired). We have a brand new sticker set of Michellins and would include those for another $1,950 mounted and balanced.
Thanks,
Joe

Joe your obviously trying to do the right thing here by disclosing the ovrrev. In all fairness to any uneducated potential cup buyers out there it should be noted that the motor should be torn down and inspected. A 2k overrev is pretty serious and I'm pretty sure Mr. Cervelli would concur. Are there current leakdown numbers available....

Car is sold. Thanks
I contacted a number of well-respected people today (in addition to Chris) about the over-rev. The concensus was that if the leak down and compression were good, the motor was probably fine.
Of course everything was fully disclosed and discussed with the buyer and he discussed with his very experienced local shop.
