Trailex Enclosed

Trailex Enclosed
Has anyone recently heard of or seen a used unit for sale? I've been having a really tough time locating one with the exception of a unit in CA and one in MO.

I looked for the better part of 18 months and ended up buying a new one. When that trailer went to trailer heaven, I bought a used Thule (CargoPro) all aluminum 24' trailer. Nearly as light, tall enough to stand inside and, best of all, one can find these used if you hunt around.

I've done a bunch of searches on the 18ft Thule but have not had much luck in finding one of those either. I really need to see one in person and test it with my SUV before buying. The whole goal of the purchase for me is to downsize tow vehicles from a half-ton to a diesel SUV. The specs on the CH18 Thule is 2500lbs unloaded. That is pushing it as a Trailex would be 500-700lbs lighter.
I do appreciate your ideas and sharing the story. I sincerely hope it does not take 18months.

A friend of mine tows a 22' Thule with his Cayenne. Claims to have no issues. His is pretty bare, but I know its not 2500#, maybe 2200. He just has the exterior skin, no plywood walls. The trailex are not much lighter, and they have the ramps that you have to pull out. I have an open Trailex, and the ramps are a necessary evil, but when I go enclosed, I do not want to deal with ramps, beavertail all the way. There is a guy in FL selling a Thule, look on racingjunk.com under used trailers Also, have you looked at the stealth super-lite. Another guy around here just bought one, and it's very nice, and all aluminum too. Stealthtrailer.com

I appreciate the ideas.
I just gave Stealth a call and their 18ft (with 3ft v-nose) weighs 2300, that is with plywood walls and some kind of moisture resistant synthetic floor. They did say that replacing the walls with white would drop another 75lbs out of it. The Trailex units weigh 1800, so it is 450lbs more. I think I will have to at least call for some pricing to see what I can save.

i towed a 20' with cayenne gts. sure it's fun and great.
then i towed it with a 3/4 ton diesel.... the cayenne feels downright dangerous.
then i towed it with a 3500 dually, the cayenne felt suicidal as i have never been so fearful in my life.
your perspective changes when you try to tow with different tow vehicle.

3500 lbs empty i think.
it's not the wt. i can pull it no problem with pepper gts. it's the sway on bay bridge, or when a semi truck passes you. also, try to do an emergency stop and see if you pee in your pants. doing the same stop in my 3/4 ton i barely feel anything.
though if you were to tow a small trailex enclosed, then should be ok

Where are you located? I may have a used enclosed coming in on trade next week.
