There's so many good builders around these days that it's hard to justify shipping an engine to PMNA anymore. In addition to any of the builders mentioned doing your engine for you, I would also recommend any of them for gearbox service. Every person mentioned in this thread is on our list of preferred installers.

I'd also give Midwest Eurosport a call. George Wethered knows his stuff and has been building water-cooled 3.8's to 475 at the crank. George did the rebuild on my old air-cooled engine and with the Motec mapping it was smooth and torquey all the way.

+1 For Dawes. They are great engine builders, and they built mine (non cup). Always a ton of cup cars in the shop and at the track. (570) 422-6848

That's like asking which model of Porsche is the best? I can think of half a dozen top builders in CA alone, without even considering the Oregon and Washington guys.
