I'll be at Thunderhill in May and might do other rounds if my schedule permits.

I was going to enter but now fuel cells are mandatory so I can't. I'm working on getting a cell but that's almost a "sell this car and get one with a proper cell" event.

Leigh, is that new? The 2011 regs "strongly recommend" a cell but don't require it. That will knock a lot of cars out...

Did you run last year? How was it?

This is the first I have heard that PDC cars need to run with a fuel cell.
I will check with Greg Franz who runs the series.

Regarding PDC, it's a great series for beginners to advanced Cup drivers which focuses on driver development while providing a ton of track time. Greg has done a great job with the series and it continues to grow each year.

We have supported and will continue to support several cars in this series.

That's the way I read the rules but I'll double check; I'd sure like to give that series a try this year. I was in the PCA race at Miller last year when they were running there and it seemed to be very competitive but clean racing.
I'll have to figure out how to write "PIRELLI" on the stack of Yokohamas that I just bought

I just got an email from Greg confirming that while fuel cells are highly recommended for PDC, they are not required.

Obviously this is a big plus for the cars that do not have a fuel cell.

If you are thinking about coming out and racing some of the west coast tracks, the PDC is a great way to go about it.

1st stop, California Speedway where your Cup car can hit 165mph!
This is the same weekend as the PCA Festival of Speed so bring your Porsche out for this great event April 8-10th!

James, the mix of coaching and wheel to wheel looks like a fantastic opportunity, I won't be able to pull off a full season but there are a few dates that look real promising, not to mention Rennsport is a must.

I had mistaken this for grand am level series so never thought about it until Doug at Race Technik mentioned it.

James thanks for clarifying! I'd like to get a cell regardless but at least I can run a few races until I get that done...I'll start with the race at Miller.

Dave, that's looking like the plan, talk about getting lured to the deep end of the pool...
