Default Accell pedal block?

One issue I had on my first outing in this car was the accellerator pedal. There is a painted plywood block attached to the face of the accell pedal. It looks like it could be factory, it matches the floorboard, but it caught me off guard, I'm used to the brake/throttle to be even with the brake depressed so you can roll your foot, this causes you to sort of dip your toe during heel toe, I would catch myself on part throttle in the brake zone, I'm tempted to take it off or is this factory and I should get used to it?...

The block is definitely not factory. We have put those on in the past for guys that had trouble reaching the gas on the blips.

Yea that's what I thought..seemed like a cheesy solution for a factory bit... Had me thinking the brakes/tires weren't coming up to temp...
