996 Cup wide front
Hi Guys,
I am considering a wide front & rear for my 996 Cup car as part of a project to see if I can get it to run with the 2010 997 cup cars. The idea is to run wider rims and rubber front and rear.
Does anybody have experience doing similar conversions and ideas on who could supply the body parts and what width rims/tires they went to.
Many thanks,
Simon

grand am front fenders can let you run 10" - 10.5" front wheels, and RSR rear flairs can give let you run up to 14" if you really tried.
u "might" be able to run with 09 cups. but no way in hell can you run with 2010 3.8L cars. i was on track with 6 cups, 7 cups and 3.8L 7 cups. the speed at which the 3.8L cars pass me is way way faster than any cups previous. you need a bit more power in addition to more rubber and be a better drier than the 2010 car's driver.

Send Gordon at autometrics an email. Think he still has a used set of grand am front carbon fenders. I believe he also has used 02 and 03 rs front and rear bodywork if you really want a project

We have converted 996 chassis' to 997 Cup S front fenders and 997 GT3RS rear quarter panels. It's a lot of work but looks factory.
