Default WTB "feeler": 997 CUP TUB

I may look to retub my car.

a used 997 Tub would be of interest if anybody knows of any used tubs available?

rear fender damage is ok on used tub as im more interested in RS rear fenders anyhow.

any leads appreciated.

im currently getting my ducks in row incase i retub my car. The right tub is what i need.

Also, what is the current price for a new or used 997 Tub anyhow??

I have a used 997 tub at the shop which needs some repair and we can install the RS quarters as well since we have done this before.

We are saving this tub for this exact need.

Email me at james@gmgracing.com

Thanks,

I believe Porsche will only sell a tub if you cutt off the vin from the crashed car and send it in. They re-stamp the new tub with the old number. They don't want a crashed tub to be repaired and built back into another car. It would be missing a vin number. Not sure how you could register a car for the street with no vin. It might be ok if it was a race car only.

It normally takes a lot of damage to require a tub. A lot of guys retub their cars to cutt down the repair time when the car could have been fixed at a body shop.

I thought the CUP program was different from the RSR program.
(i know people with a new spare CUP tub with CUP car inorder to avoid down time)

I know the RSR program requires old VIN to be cut and returned for replacment.

Im looking for a "retired" tub that has no real damage and i dont require cup VIN.
The RS title and parts would go onto the Tub and become essentially a gutted full cage RS.

I don't think it's legal to transfer the VIN from one chassis to another (at least in the US), you might want to check your laws if being able to register it for the street is important to you

wont be a transfer.....
It will be a RS re-bodied with a "porsche factory replacement body"

the RS VIN stays the same..... (as long as i rebuild around it)

the old RS tub will no longer have a VIN or firewall after in finished. LOL!
