The RSR is no match for the DTM.
Maybe a GT1 car can catch the DTM.

If you take some time to search for the race results at Autodrom Most here in the Czech Republic, you will have a direct comparison. In the D4 division 3-hour endurance there were a few races last year with DTM cars against the RSR. I imagine that the Spyder RS is the only current Porsche that could compare.

With under 500hP why are the DTM cars faster than an RSR?

Mainly weight, aerodynamics, tighter tolerances and better (more expensive) built.

Wow the RSR was my race car hero I never thought there was such a difference with a DTM.
Aerodynamics in DTM cars are just insane if you look close the body and the lower chassis are lie splitted and air goes inside etc crazy racing cars...

While the DTM cars are insane. They bear little resemblance with the cars they represent. I find this a bit dull, compared to the older DTM series.

In this way, I think the RSR shines. One can go out and buy a GT3 today and point out common designs between the cars.
