Default Bosch Modas for 996 Cup

Hi,
would appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction/who to talk to in regards to a MODAS system (for MS 3.1). Also wondering if anyone has experience with the Durametric system for the cupcars, like how does it compare to modas?, would you be able to change the rev. limit with durametric, would like to hear from someone in regards to this who has used both.
Thank you
Bernie

I have the durametric for the cup but it wont let you change the rev limit. You can only view data. The modas is rather basic and difficult to use.

they provide the connectors to plug in like the modas so you can see all the different sensors etc but you are not able to change any of the values like rev imit or pit speed limit etc.

Thanks amondc,
I remember posts in the past about this topic, but can't find them in the archives. Could someone please point me in the right direction, Geoffrey, Steve. W, LV Dell, TOPP racing, etc. (hope I didn't leave anyone out.........) in regards to a modas system (how to obtain and is it worth it).

You can view data and set pit speed and use the diagnostics but very little. The cup cars are code locked by Porsche Motorsports. Even through the parent software INCA you can't really do anything with the Porsche mapping functions. Probably everyone uses the Motec for most fuel and electric diagnosis. I think the first version I payed 3,000 for a disc and a cable, I don't know what they go for now. It is awfully expensive for little in return. P.S. you could change maps if you had the Hex file, but you can't alter anything signifficant and you will uses this very little with the exception of reading the hour log.

I have an 03 cup and just sent the ECU back to PMNA to read fault codes (turned out to be a bad lamda sensor).

Does the durametric system allow full visibility to all data?

Regards,

Tom

Hey Tom,

Yes, the Durametric system will give you fault readouts from the Bosch 3.1 and does a decent job.

Bernie, the Modus system and cable is a bit pricey but well worth it. You can do all of the things your looking to do including set your pit lane speed and rev limit. Give me a ring if you have any questions on how to use it. I also know of a spare cable and software for sale if you need.

Rick

Thanks Rick,
no longer need the Modas for the 996, but now need the Modas for a 997, which has a diffrent cable than the 996 according to PMNA.
If you want to email me offline send it to mbeuromotors@gmail.com
Thanks

Andy:

Sorry, it's been a challenging couple of weeks at work. Please remind me how to get in touch with JR. I did speak with "Durametrics" and was impressed with his knowledge.

Rick:

Do you stilll know of sw/cable availability for 996 cup? 03 version? With the damn parallel port interface?

Don't know how to change/set the limit but the speed limiter is activated by the lower lever on right side steering column; I think it's the cruise control lever for the street car.

Digging up an old thread. Just bought MSA-Box. Now the right Modas software for my 996 GT3 Cup and 997 GT3 Cup (Gen1).
Is the right software listed here ?: http://www.bosch-motorsport.de/en/de...oftware_1.html

Let me know, Bit lost :-(
