Which MSA? 996 will unfortunately only work with the older type, with the serial connector. If it's the USB version there's no software for it and there's no plans to make it available.

I've used the MSA II box with USB on 04 AND 05 996 Cup cars with no problem. I was able to get the config files and the MSA driver from Andrew at PMNA. Not sure of the size but I might be able to e-mail them. I believe I also found the driver for the MSA II on the Bosch motorsport website

Oh, OK, how odd?! That was the answer I got from the data guys in Weissach when I got my MSA II and asked about the 996 configs. Great that you solved it (wonder if PMNA cracked it themselves?).

Just got an odd stare and a shrug, "we don't support old scheisse...". Ooops.

Default MSA box II

I have the following Config files. The 04 and 05 cars work using the Pcup_ 2005 config. I'd be happy to e-mail a config file if you want to try it.

Jerry, what is the difference between the 2008 and 2009 files? I have an 08 cup with 08 config file. Would one see much change using the 09 file?

Thanks.

Steve

the config files arent the engine tune files that the ecu uses to deal with the motor. config files are the files that configure the screen, i presume tell modas what variables to expect, values, etc. options, configurations that the specific car can set.
my RSR config files when i load them in MOdas givee me tabs for traction control, luanch control, etc. stuff specific to the car.without those, modas via the MSA cable cant connect to teh ECU. with the right config file load you can connect the software to the ECU via the MSA cable, and now you can looks at stuff, make some changes to pit speed lane values, etc.

the tune file, if thats what youre referring to, is an entirely different thing.

That makes perfect sense. I did get the two subjects confused. Thanks.

I am trying to detune my 03 cup to a set dyno hp for a GTS class . Has anyone done this ?
The BMW's seem to have a lot of piggyback systems to do this with .
thanks

Default throttle stop / restrictor

Wondering if either of you have done one or both of these ? It does seem like the restrictor might be best ?
And if so where does it go ?
